Dr. R. Jared Staudt

We were delighted to welcome Dr. R. Jared Staudt on Friday, January 9th for an engaging evening centered on his talk, “Education to Renew Our Culture: A Sacramental Approach,” drawn from his book Words Made Flesh: The Sacramental Mission of Catholic Education. The night began with a relaxed wine and cheese reception, giving our community a chance to connect before the talk and more than 40 people gathered at our school to listen to his talk.

In his talk, Dr. Staudt challenged us to see education not merely as the transfer of information, but as a formative, sacramental work—one that shapes the whole person and renews culture by uniting truth, beauty, and goodness. He reflected on how Catholic education participates in the Incarnational logic of the faith, making the Word tangible through habits, practices, and a shared vision of the good life. He strongly recommended more formation of the individuals and a deeper integration of the faith into our academics. Afterwards, he participated in a Q&A session. His talk was later aired on Divine Mercy Radio. You can listen to it here:

Afterward, our teachers, headmaster, and some Board members had the pleasure of taking Dr. Staudt out to dinner, where the conversation continued over a shared meal. The night ended with a stranger paying for the entire table’s dinner in honor of Our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless him!
