Student Life
House System
Chesterton Academy’s House system is drawn from the 1,000 year-old tradition of Christian education exemplified in the colleges at Oxford and Cambridge. The Houses provide real, tangible community within the larger school, giving students the opportunity to take ownership, fulfill the call to leadership, and to cultivate the ideal conditions for virtue. Each House has two Senior and two Junior prefects, two faculty advisors, and several parent liaisons.
Encountering Christ
Catholicism is central to our mission. For this reason, every school day begins with Mass. We teach theology out of the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and papal documents. Other important ways we live the faith include annual pilgrimages and retreats, modest and wholesome extracurricular activities, and sacred art and crucifixes adorn the hall and the classrooms.

Senior Pilgrimage to Italy | Walking in the Footsteps of the Saints
Each year, graduating seniors from Chesterton Academies embark on a two-week pilgrimage to Italy—a culminating experience that brings four years of classical and Catholic education to life. From the major basilicas of Rome to the hill towns of Orvieto and Assisi, students encounter the history of the Church where it actually happened. They pray at the tombs of St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Francis, St. Clare, and Blessed Carlo Acutis, walk the ancient streets traveled by pilgrims for centuries, and experience the beauty of the Eternal City and beyond. The pilgrimage deepens students' faith, strengthens lifelong friendships, and helps them discover that the Catholic faith is not simply something to learn—it is something to live.
